Health Consultant
Tina Barrett, ND
Tina Barrett holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from DePaul University, Chicago, IL and spent 14 years in the financial services industry, specializing in banking and insurance sales. A personal health challenge and the loss of her maternal grandmother inspired her to shift her career focus toward healthcare.

In 2016, Tina returned to school to pursue a Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree at National University of Health Sciences, Lombard, IL, which was completed in 2022. As a student Tina was also a founding member of the Black Naturopathic Medical Student Association, circa 2018. She is currently earning her second doctorate in Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine from Pacific College of Health and Science, Chicago, IL. Tina is also an Albert Schweitzer Fellow for Life, class of 2023. During her fellowship, she led a project at an alternative public high school within Cook County Corrections, where she educated young men on health topics such as mental and emotional well-being, anatomy, sexual health, and the impact of prescription and illicit drug use within incarcerated populations.
Although Tina is trained in general primary care, she has chosen to specialize in gastrointestinal disorders and chronic pain. She is deeply committed to community education, particularly within the Black community, which she feels is an underserved population with a precarious relationship with the medical community. Tina believes that due to historical events and systemic racism, many in the Black community have a deeply rooted mistrust in medical professionals, often leading to delayed medical care and poorer prognoses. She is dedicated to building trust, increasing knowledge, and empowering the community.
In 2023, Tina opened her first natural therapy office in Berwyn, IL, where she offers non-invasive, holistic solutions to support individuals suffering from many conditions, but specifically chronic pain and gastrointestinal concerns. Using traditional healing methods, otherwise known as complementary or alternative medicine (CAM), Tina emphasizes different aspects of natural or non-pharmaceutical approaches to health. Her future goals include becoming a public speaker, hosting her own show (podcast and video), and authoring books on health topics.
